About Us

Hong Kong Obesity Society (HKOS) was set up in April 2016 with the following principal aims:
 
To raise awareness of obesity in Hong Kong.
 
To serve as a platform to connect doctors and allied health professionals involved in the management of obesity and obesity-related disorders.
 
To serve as a bridge between the local and international professional communities in the field of obesity medicine.

World Obesity Day Patient Awareness Campaign in March 2024

We are delighted to announce the upcoming Hong Kong Obesity Society’s first World Obesity Day Patient Awareness Campaign in March 2024 .  We will have 6 public lectures  by specialists from various fields to share with us the updates in obesity and its complications. In addition, we have invited  a qualified trainer Ms Sonia Kong who will provide teaching classes on stick mobility, a new type of exercise for training core muscles and stretching mobility. Don’t miss this opportunity. 

我們很高興地宣布香港肥胖學會將於2024 年3月舉辦世界胖肥日2024關注教育講座。我們將舉辦6場公開講座,由各領域專科醫生為大家分享肥胖症及其併發症的最新資訊。此外,我們還邀請了資深教練江卓儀女士,為大家提供關於stick mobility 的運動課程,這是一種訓練核心肌肉和伸展活動的新型運動。 大家千萬不要錯過這個機會。

World Obesity Day 2024 Primary School Tour on Childhood Obesity

On behalf of HKOS, we are delighted to announce the upcoming Hong Kong Obesity Society’s first school tour.

HKCRISPS Health Risk Engines

HKU Endo has launched a smartphone application with health risk engines for type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease (CVD) and cancer. The health risk engines are developed based on the long term prospective data of the Hong Kong Cardiovascular Risk Factor Prevalence Study (CRISPS), a community-based cohort study established since 1994-1995. It is available for FREE download from Apple Store and Google Play Store.
